New Orleans & SWBNO Lead Pipe Replacement on Private Property | Evans Cutchmore

I spoke with FOX 8 today about legislation moving through the Louisiana Senate that would allow the Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans to replace lead water pipes on private property, using public funds.

This matters to me personally. My mother lives in Algiers. She's on a fixed income. So are most of her neighbors. They shouldn't have to choose between safe drinking water and paying their bills.

Sen. Royce Duplessis is leading the charge with two partner bills,  and I'm grateful someone is paying attention to the families who've been there the longest and have the fewest options.

This is exactly why financial literacy isn't just about building wealth. It's about understanding the systems that affect your health, your home, and your community, and knowing how to navigate them.
