PRODUCT EXPANSION | FINANCIAL POWER FOR LIFE™
Every American Deserves to Know How Money Works
Financial Power for Life™ is no longer just a high school curriculum. It's a complete financial literacy ecosystem, built for every stage of life, every income level, and every community that has been left out of the money conversation for too long.
By Kim M. Braud, Founder | The Couvent Collective PBC | March 2026
When I wrote the first edition of Financial Power for Life™, my goal was simple: give Louisiana's high school students a financial literacy curriculum that actually looked like them, written by someone who grew up here, who understood what it means to be the first in your family to build wealth, and who knew that the standard personal finance textbook was never written with us in mind.
That curriculum, now Louisiana Department of Education Personal Finance Clearinghouse approved and HB 52 compliant for the Class of 2027, became the first comprehensive financial literacy curriculum written by a minority Louisiana native on the approved list. That milestone mattered. But it was never the finish line.
Today, I'm proud to announce that Financial Power for Life™ has expanded into a full eight-edition ecosystem. Same five-pillar framework. Same 80% core content architecture. Twenty percent audience specific. And a commitment to reach every American who has ever been handed a paycheck without being handed the knowledge to protect it.
We don't have a financial literacy problem in America. We have a financial literacy access problem. Those are not the same thing.
The Five Pillars That Anchor Every Edition
Every edition of Financial Power for Life™ is built on the same framework:
Earn → Protect → Grow → Leverage → Transfer.
These five pillars aren't just chapter headings. They're a philosophy. Money without protection is temporary. Growth without leverage is slow. And wealth that can't be transferred isn't generational, it’s personal.
That framework travels across every edition because the fundamentals don't change, only the context does. A returning citizen rebuilding from zero needs the same core principles as a professional athlete managing sudden wealth. The language, the case studies, and the applications look different. The foundation doesn't.
The Eight Editions
01 Lark & Mimi Learning Series - First Money, First Stories
For Pre-K through Grade 2 and their caregivers. Coloring books, reading books, activity books, and an app. This is where money scripts get written, before school teaches them wrong. We install financial identity through story and play, before the world installs fear and confusion instead.
02 High School Edition Vol. 1 - Foundation & Compliance
Seven modules. 321 pages. 18 weeks. All five pillars. Louisiana HB 52 compliant for the Class of 2027. LDOE Clearinghouse approved. The first comprehensive financial literacy curriculum written by a minority Louisiana native on the state's approved list.
02B High School Edition Vol. 2 - Going Deeper
For grades 10–12 who completed Vol. 1. Eight modules plus a Capstone. Insurance, taxes, digital money, salary negotiation, Louisiana wealth tools, and a Personal Financial Power Plan Portfolio students keep for life.
03 Community Edition - Adult Learner Financial Foundation
Twelve modules, approximately 154 lessons, all five pillars — built for low-to-mid income adults across all 50 states. Deployed through CDFIs, Head Start programs, workforce development agencies, housing organizations, and faith communities.
04 NIL Edition - Contract Literacy for Student Athletes
For high school and college athletes navigating NIL deals. Contract mechanics, brand identity, tax implications, agent vetting, and the psychology of sudden income. Because a signing bonus without financial literacy is just a countdown clock.
05 Pro Athlete Edition - Wealth Governance
For professional athletes in the NBA, NFL, MLB, WNBA, and MLS. All five pillars applied to career compression, sudden wealth, the entourage dynamic, the family ATM pressure, and what it means to be a first-generation wealth holder with a ten-year window.
06 Entrepreneur Edition - Capital Strategy & Business Wealth
Nine modules from cash flow to exit strategy. Built for small business owners and deployed through CDFIs, SBDCs, and HBCUs. Covers cash flow mastery, business credit, capital access, the underpricing trap, and the critical difference between owning an asset and owning a job.
07 Government & Public Service Edition - Pension Literacy & Benefits Optimization
Nine modules for teachers, police officers, firefighters, and federal employees. FERS, TSP, DROP entry timing, PSLF management, irrevocable survivor benefit elections. The people who serve this country deserve to understand the benefits they've earned.
08 Reentry Edition - Financial Reset & Opportunity Rebuilding
Six modules for returning citizens, delivered through reentry organizations, corrections systems, and CDFIs. Second-chance banking, credit repair, employment strategy, and an entrepreneurship pathway. DOJ and DOL funding streams aligned. Because a second chance without a financial foundation isn't really a second chance.
Every edition shares the same spine. The audience changes. The commitment doesn't.
Why Eight? Why Now?
Financial illiteracy in America is not a K–12 problem. It's not a low-income problem. It's not a Black and brown community problem, though those communities bear its consequences most severely. It is a systemic absence of intentional, culturally relevant, audience-specific financial education across every stage of life.
The high school student who graduates without understanding compound interest becomes the adult who can't explain their 401(k). The athlete who signs their first contract without understanding tax brackets becomes the cautionary tale we've all heard. The returning citizen who leaves a corrections facility without a bank account becomes the recidivism statistic we pretend is inevitable. None of this is inevitable. It is the result of a gap we have tolerated for too long.
Financial Power for Life™ was built to fill that gap, not with a one-size-fits-all solution, but with an ecosystem that meets people where they are, speaks their language, and gives them tools they can actually use.
What's Next
All eight editions are targeted for completion by Q4 2026. The High School Edition is available now and actively being placed in Louisiana schools and districts. The Lark & Mimi Learning Series is available via Amazon and our Evans Cutchmore website. Additional editions are in active development.
If you are an educator, a CDFI, an athletic program, a reentry organization, a workforce development agency, or a corporate partner who believes financial literacy is not a luxury, we want to talk.
The ecosystem is built. The framework is proven. The only thing missing is you!
